Christmas Outreach at Horton Plaza – Downtown San Diego

Our annual outreach to Horton Plaza to sing, witness and preachers to the shoppers and Muslim cabbies at the downtown malll. We had a great time and it is important to have some “low key” outreaches to draw other Christians out to show them… the joy of obeying the Great Commission!

Used amplifiers and recorded music the whole time with no complaints. We were on public property across from the mall entrance so their security couldn’t say anything to us. Praise Jesus!

HALLOWEEN – MONSTER BASH – 2010

A wonderful gathering of 9 preachers down in the Gaslamp area of San Diego on Saturday night. The immorality gets worse every year and the crowd was massive!

Many Christians dressed as vampires, zombies, bikini dancers, etc were warned and exhorted to turn from sin and walk in holiness. …Overall the crowd was pretty tame and we had only a couple of small incidents.

The San Diego Police were wonderful again as they gave us much liberty to use an amplifier and provided extra protection for us on top of God’s angels. Praise God it is good to dwell with the brethren in the streets proclaiming the Way of Truth and praising His Name!

COMIC CON 2010

Comic-Con 2010 was wonderful and we had a great time passing out thousands of tracts and preaching / witnessing to the people there. This is as good as it gets. San Diego Police were great as usual, no one got injured, no major problems at all. We saw the hand of God upon us as all went so smoothly! Thank you Jesus! What a priviledge it is to serve You!

Report from Sam who came out with us:
I had a really great time at this out reach. Many many people heard the gospel and had it presented to them. Most people took our tracts and it was a blessing. I passed out like 300 tracts and my 3 friends passed out quite a few as well. We didn’t go inside the convention center but stood outside across the street. There were thousands and thousands of people there.

I had nonstop conversations with people as soon as I raised my “JESUS SAVES FROM HELL/TRUST JESUS” banner. I had around 30 really good conversations. I was able to tell them about Jesus and gave them something to think about. I really love having a big sign. I stopped feeling shy and wondering how to start conversations with people I didn’t even know about Jesus Because people were coming up to ME and asking ME questions about Jesus. Some people were even interrupting my conversations. Usually to say something rude. Also a few times I could see that someone wanted to talk to me because they looked at me a certain way. but I couldn’t because I was engaged already. So I gave them a tract, and they were able to walk away with the precious gospel written on a card, what an awesome thing. I felt a lot more confident today. I feel like I have really grown since the last time I went out in that kind of setting. I used to feel threatened or uncomfortable when someone didn’t believe the same thing as I did. I feel better now about that. Two years ago I had no idea that I would be doing this.

Two years ago I was so shy and apprehensive about talking to people about Jesus all I could do to witness is leave tracts on benches for people to find. There is noting wrong with that at all and I still do it, but now on a greater scale. I have become more confident because I have learned how to have a conversation with people, making specific points and leading to a conclusion for the person to think about. When you know how and what to say you seriously feel more comfortable. Being respectful and friendly really helps. Taking time to listen to someone is also key but make sure that you leave them with a conclusion of what the Bible says even if it is different than what they think. It really helps to have a plan for your conversation. I think in the past I knew information to tell people but I didn’t know how to present it and the gospel came out jumbled and both I and the person I was witnessing to were confused. I have watched Ray Comfort witness to people a lot on youtube and I have ordered his television series. I recommend it so much I really do. Youtube search ‘way of the master’. That has helped me so much.

Ray has a model conversation to use with people and wow does it work. Just knowing it gives me more courage. I don’t recite it everytime but it has shown me how to have a structured conversation and not just random information. I am so thankful for the chance to tell others about the Lord. The people I had conversations with were all different types. Some were Christians already, testing me asking me questions. Some were Christians who took tracts to pass out themselves. Some were Christians who were struggling in their faith and needed encouragement. Yet other ‘Christians’ like this one guy were telling Neil and I that we were disgusting to him and an embarrassment to Christians everywhere, asking us if Jesus would hold signs or pass out tracts. Ridiculous. I talked to this one young man who was into alchemy and had questions about the Bible. I was really thankful and happy I had the chance to present the gospel to him. And he let me even though he didn’t have interest he still listened. I guess I felt like he gave me respect in some way by listening. Now I know how someone else feels when I listen to them. I just realized that! Wow. Something to consider when witnessing.

While I was out there witnessing today, these two girls wearing tiny bikinis came up to me. They were promoting some evil website I think. They wanted to take a picture with me. I thought about it and I said no. I thought about what someone would think later if they saw the picture. I told them that I was actually out there to protest sin. I told them that they should have more respect for themselves and that they are worth more than they know. I tried to hand them tracts but they walked away laughing.

A woman yelled out “Jesus was a zombie”!!! and then tried to run away I guess embarrassed about what she said and totally tripped and fell on the ground! It was awesome! I am praying for seeds to be planted. I am sad that more people don’t do this kind of out reach to the lost. I met ‘Christians there that had no interest in telling a dieing world about Jesus and even ones that were mad at us for trying. How sad. But praise God for this awesome opportunity!

EARTH DAY REPORT – SONDAY, APRIL 18th, 2010

A wonderful outreach at the 2010 San Diego EARTH DAY FAIR in Balboa Park in Downtown San Diego! We had a great turnout of believers who preached, passed out tracts and Bibles, displayed signs and stood bold for the cause of Christ.

Preachers came in from LA, Anaheim, Brawley and from all over San Diego to share the gospel with the many thousands that were there. Attendance at the Fair was down about 20% from last year but there were still quite a number of people there. The usual contingent of Wiccans, Bahais, Hare Krishnas, Buddhists, Tree Huggers, Mother Gaia worshippers, Muslims, were there in force and for the first time the Atheists had their own booth, though now there is no evidence of them actually being there. (Photographs can be faked you know)

A few highlights were a young High School girl received Christ for the first time, another couple young girls rededicated their lives to Christ, and we heard a moving testimony of the POWER OF GOD by a former Buddhist/Lesbian who was previously married to a woman, and her friend who was a former stripper/prostitute who both recently came to Christ and had been radically CHANGED by the HOLY SPIRIT working in their lives! Unfortunately Neil Sr. missed getting this on video!

St Patricks Day Preaching in the Gaslamp

Jeff, Demetrius, Romero and Neil went into the Gaslamp on St. Patricks Day to preach the gospel. Many hardened sinners who mocked us and God but we did have some good conversations. It gets darker every year as we saw many near-naked women, a multitude of drunks, mockers of God and tremendous apathy to the things of God. All signs that Jesus is drawing near!

World’s Fastest Guitarist at UCSD

A wild day at UCSD! Racial tensions had eased a bit on campus, but then a KKK white hood was found on a statue near Library Walk where we preach all the time. This added more fuel to the fires there but it was pretty calm today as far as the protests go.

The Lord Jesus drew tremendous crowds because of the anointing on Him. His preaching and miracles drew many, many people. Sadly, we are falling a bit short in the signs and wonders department. :( But at least we are not faking it like many do!

An hour later we were joined by Dennis Agajanian, who is known as the WORLD’S FASTEST GUITARIST, and has won Entertainer of the Year and Musician of the Year many times from the Christian Country Music Association. Dennis witnessed to some students, who had no idea who he was, and even took my banner and preached the gospel a couple of times. His lovely wife Victoria joined us also. They were very gracious and humble servants of God.

SAN DIEGO MARDI GRAS – 2010 + New Soldier!

Mardi Gras 2010 was the worst yet! Every year it seems to get darker! Yes, people, it is true. The world is rapidly growing darker and darker. The LIGHT of Jesus in the hearts of the Christians is so hidden away that you can barely see it in public any longer.

I was quite astonished at the number of so-called “Christians” who attended the Mardi Gras Debauchery in the Gaslamp in Downtown San Diego. They were not there to preach or witness but to PARTY! What possible excuse would a child of the Most High God have to pay $20.00 to get into a private party where there was half-naked men and women, drunkness, sexual perversion and revelry? They were not there to preach the gospel folks. They were there to take part in the whole sordid scene.

Our team of 6 preachers, Sam, Jeff, Demetrius, Romero, Matt and Neil, stood outside the gate with banners and tracts and preached to the people on their way in. We met a Christian Pastor and his wife going in, an evangelist, a International Youth Director (who was very convicted by our banners and preaching and turned around), and numerous “Christians” from many local churches, especially THE ROCK CHURCH. Many were not ashamed at all and “THOUGHT IT STRANGE” that we were preaching there! (see the verses below)

1PETER 4:1-5
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. 2 As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

A real bright spot was we were finally able to meet up with a new soldier for Jesus there! Brother DEMETRIUS joined us finally and he had a great presence, a great banner, and we all enjoyed preaching along side him! Join us again brother Demetrius!

We met one “Christian” lady, pictured below, who proudly and loudly told us, “I AM GOING TO SIN, SIN, SIN TONIGHT AND GOD WILL FORGIVE ME TOMMOROW!”

One young man we talked to grew up in the church, HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, and attended High School there. He told us he was quite active in the church but after he got caught in a sexual relationship with a pastor’s daughter of another church, which I will choose to not name here, he fell away from the Lord and has been cold to God ever since. Very sad!

New Brother Sam joined us for the second time out and had a great time with us! We preached about 4 1/2 hours straight and it was quite an opportunity because the people had to stay in line and listen to us! A captive audience is a street preacher’s dream come true! Here is Sam below holding his and my banners.

New Soldiers of Christ join us! – Muslim Outreach

Praise Jesus! The Lord Jesus has been slowly bringing a few more people to help out in preaching the gospel on the streets and campuses of San Diego! Brother Sam, recently moved to the San Diego area from Northern CA and hooked up with us through brother Ruben. He went out with us for the first time on Saturday night and did a great job! He even got attacked by a drunk within his first hour out there and did very well as the drunk was unable to break Sam’s metal banner pole! ;)

Another new soldier is brother Romero. He is a truck driver, a Harley rider, and yet has a gentle spirit and a warm heart for the lost! He is a “tract monster” as he gives out more tracts than all of us combined!

Welcome brothers Sam and Romero! We also were joined by ZAK, MOSES, and MARILYN during an outreach at UCSD to the Muslims. They did a great job sharing the gospel with many muslims. Also sisters MELANIE and NINA are helping out on campus now with outreach to the students when they have time.

WHALE-WATCHING EVANGELISM – San Diego Bay

Brother Jeff, Brother Neil and Sister Lu-i went out preaching the gospel down at San Diego Bay. We preached to the people in line for the Whale-Watching tour, (a captive audience!). We also preached to people onboard and passing by the aircraft carrier the USS Midway, which is now a floating museuem in San Diego Bay.

A wonderful day, come and join us!

2010 Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Outreach

Video from the 2010 Rose Parade. A good number of brethen came in from many different places to march, fly their banners and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ at the end of the parade. It was a long, 5.5 mile trek but I stopped my complaining when I saw Sakura, a young Japanese Christian rolling along in her wheelchair with her husband Ron. Praise God, they were an inspiration to us all.

Ruben, Petar, Rod, and others had gone to preach in Las Vegas the night before and left there at 2am to get back in time for the Rose Parade. That’s devotion!

People came in from Oslo, Norway, Mexico, Washington, and from along the East Cost. It was great to see so many young people from the Bible Distribution Club in Arcadia, CA. What a wonderful way to bring praise and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ!
