Doug and Neil at UCSD

Doug came down from Orange County and we headed out to UCSD on Wed. It was a wonderful and I believe profitable time as we had conversations all day long with many different people. Atheists, muslims, homosexuals, religious Christians, agnostics and even ninjas!

The harvest field is full of people dying to hear the TRUTH about eternity and the Lord Jesus Christ! Yes, they may be rude at times, show signs of apathy and disgust, but there are MANY who are willing to dialogue with you about the TRUTH. Go share the love of Jesus today with someone!

Doug updated his famous “too cool for God” tract and many people took it and read it. He did a great job with the evolutionists on campus. He is now off on a trip through the southwest to share on other campuses. Please pray for him.

Balboa Park and Wild Halloween Outreaches!

A wild couple of weekends with outreaches to the Haunted Houses in the Gaslamp, UCSD, SDSU and the Monster Bash on Halloween! We got to witness to a large number of people who were in line waiting to get into the Haunted Houses downtown. A few confronatations as usual but God kept us safe, Praise His Name!

I attended the Halloween Costume party as UCSD on October 30th at UCSD and my heart was saddened inside for all the young people who were there having a good time but have no idea what is soon coming upon our nation. Breaks my heart as there are so many that are lost and so few people out warning the people.

Please Jesus, raise up more workers for your harvest field!

Halloween night was crazy but we were fully protected by the Lord and the police and all went well. Jeff and I preached to many nuns, priests, demons, vampires, harlots, etc. The reaction on many of the people’s faces was amazing when they heard the preaching and they realized we were serious and not there dressed up as street preachers! :)

Counter Protest against Westboro Baptist Church

A video made from the Gay community’s viewpoint, made up of pictures from the counter protest against the crazy people from Westboro Baptist Church at San Diego High school. Most of the protestors were from the Gay Community. The Gay Community is so much more organized and together than the Christian community. I am glad they protested. They had 400 people there. Sad that not many Christians care enough to speak up at all for the Truth. We continue to hide in our churches and think God is pleased.

People need to hear the message that YES, God does love us all but He wants us to stop sinning and to allow Jesus to deliver us from sin. We probably all want to live life the way we want to but those who love Christ know better. We must deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Him!

“Our Great God!” – Video from Prayer in the Square

This is the opening song from the Prayer in the Square event that took place in Times Square in NYC on Spetember 20th, 2009. This song is NOT on the video released by Times Square Church for some reason?

The event was AWESOME and AMAZING as approimately 60,000 people gathered together to worship and pray in public in Times Square! God’s Spirit was there in a mighty way and the event blessed my soul beyond measure! PRAISE JESUS!

Report from the Britney Spears Outreach

We had four preachers of righteousness at this event. Jeff, Matt, Jarrod and Dave preached, prayed, passed out tracts and had good conversations with the people with met with.

By God’s grace we were not interupted by any law enforcement at the Britney Spears Concert held at the San Diego Sports Arena. We had an open door of utterance to preach, teach and exhort sinners to prepare and turn to God while there is time. We made sure we preached to parents who brought their children to this event. We reminded them of their accountability before God, the sin of shutting up the kingdom of God on their children and the consequence of raising up their children as God haters.

We were mocked, laughed at and challenged by false christians who I deem as false converts. I was physically assulted by male and female (sexually) but understand that is the cost of evangelism. We used the truth horn with great effect and no challenge by anyone. Many tracts were passed out and many meaniful conversations took place among male and female alike. Many homosexuals were out flaunting there sexual desires. We warned them in compassion to turn while there is still time to repent. All praise and glory to Jesus Christ!
God Bless,
Jeff Kangas

Prayer in the Square Video – Times Square NY

By God’s grace I was able to attend the 2009 Prayer in the Square event sponsored by Times Square Church in the heart of Times Square in NYC.

About 60,000 people attended and the event was totally ignored by the mainstream media! Sad to see that as they cover the drunks on New Years Eve live ever year but no mention of people worshipping Jesus there. Do not rely on the mainstream media for your news.

It was a fabulous event as God poured out His Spirit on His people in public and people going by were astonished as many had never seen a church service like that before I am sure!

To me this was a small taste of what it will be like in the Kingdom of Heaven where people from every nation, tribe and tounge will be worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ together! I can’t wait!

Wild Weekend of Evangelism!

First off we had a wild Friday night down in the Gaslamp District of San Diego. We joined some other Baptist preachers at the corner of 5th and G and there was continual warfare throughout the night. Our new friend and brother in the Lord, Chris, was immediately confronted by “Christians” who charged that his banner was “hateful” because he had a picture of the Twin Towers being attacked and it asked the question, “Where will you Spend Eternity?”.

Nominal or liberal Christians are usually the biggest critics and love to attack street preachers for their methods but yet show little or no fruit of salvation in their own lives. They don’t evangelize themselves, but they love to criticize those who do.

We next were surrounded by about 30 chanting Hare Krishnas singing their one and only song that they know. After 10 minutes of that, the police showed up and thankfully one of them was a solid Christian believer who attended a large, Calvary Chapel type Church in San Diego. We talked about how many “Christians” we encounter on the streets who are drunk and admit to actively having sex outside of marriage who tell us they attend this church in San Diego. The officer told us he encountered the same thing and told us that just last week ALL of the people he arrested attended his church! He said it made him sick! (His words not mine)

How sad to see the effects of a watered-down gospel message being preached to the people and giving them a false hope of salvation. This is the norm now as we see so many “Christians” who think they can do anything they like because they are saved by grace and don’t have to worry about sinning against a Holy God. How they will be SHOCKED on judgment day!

On Sunday night we went to the AC/DC Concert at the SD Sports Arena. We got beer thrown on us, mooned, cursed at and mocked but over all the people were okay when they saw we were not against them but were only trying to warn them that HELL is a real place and that they are headed that way unless they repent.

We had a number of conversations with confessing “Christians” who couldn’t understand why we were there? Sad to see how lost people are and the church is doing little to open their eyes to the Truth.

As the lyrics of AC/DC’s song Hell’s Bells says:

Im a rolling thunder, a pouring rain
Im comin on like a hurricane
My lightnings flashing across the sky
Youre only young but youre gonna die

I wont take no prisoners, wont spare no lives
NOBODYS PUTTING UP A FIGHT
I got my bell, Im gonna take you to hell
Im gonna get you, satan get you

Chorus:
Hells bells
Yeah, hells bells
You got me ringing hells bells
My temperatures high, hells bells

Ill give you black sensations up and down your spine
If youre into evil youre a friend of mine
See my white light flashing as I split the night
cause if goods on the left, then Im stickin to the right

I wont take no prisoners, wont spare no lives
NOBODYS PUTTING UP A FIGHT
I got my bell, Im gonna take you to hell
Im gonna get you, satan get you

Chorus

Yeow
Hells bells, satans comin to you
Hells bells, hes ringing them now
Hells bells, the temperatures high
Hells bells, across the sky
Hells bells, theyre takin you down
Hells bells, theyre draggin you around
Hells bells, gonna split the night
Hells bells, theres no way to fight, yeah

(AC/DC is right. No one, or almost no one, is putting up a fight!)

Preaching the Gospel at a Town Hall Meeting

Jeff and I headed out to the Town Hall Meeting at a public library in Spring Valley, CA. Congresswoman Susan Davis was there to discuss Obama’s Health Care Plan. We went to preach the TRUTH!

The banners are powerful! Watch as you see how you can use them to get into very good one-on-one discussions about the state of people’s souls.

The Power of God in one Open Air Preacher!

Telemachus, January 1 – 404 A.D.

The brave actions of one man ended the gruesome Coliseum games in ancient Rome for good. For his peaceful protest against barbarianism, Telemachus paid with his life. During the reign of the Roman Empire, Romans attended gladiatorial games at the Coliseum for entertainment. There gladiators would fight criminals, prisoners and vicious animals until death.

A hermit monk named Telemachus traveled to Rome just in time to attend games celebrating a Roman army victory. Telemachus watched in horror as gladiators struck down fighter after fighter. He could stand it no longer. He leapt into the arena. “Do not requite God’s mercy,” Telemachus screamed, “in turning away the swords of your enemies by murdering each other!” Neither the crowd nor the combatants paid any attention. Desperate, he ran from gladiator to gladiator, imploring them to stop. The crowd mocked him, shouting, “Sedition! Sedition! Down with him! This is no place for preaching! The old customs of Rome must be observed! On gladiators!”

Some accounts say Telemachus was struck down by those fighting in the arena. Others say the indignant spectators stoned the peacemaker to death. In either case, his actions and his death had a far reaching impact on Rome. Telemachus made others aware that the gory killing contests had no place among true Christians. Upon hearing that the peaceful man had been slain, the Christian Emperor Honorarius issued an edict banning gladiatorial combats. Telemachus saved countless others with his passionate, selfless act.

Have you ever seen an open air preacher passionately sharing the gospel in front of a strip club, mall, bar district or park bench? Maybe you too have thought “This isn’t the place for preaching.” My dear friends has the culture influenced you so much that you don’t realize the preacher isn’t the problem?

Telemachus was one man. God can use one man to change a culture… now imagine if it was an army of evangelists!

Outreaches: Bay Area, Comic-Con, Muslims

Praise God for the summer and good weather! It is a great time to preach the gospel and I hope you are taking opportunity of the freedom we still have here in America. Time is short!

I made a collage of my trip up to the Bay area and also our Comic-Con and muslim outreach this past weekend. Glory to Jesus! We serve a Great King!

We must be about our Father’s business! Truly the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few! I pray you can attend someone’s outreach this coming week.

Christian Banners Unfurled in San Diego!

Our new Christian Banners were flying throughout San Diego County last week as Jeff marched in the 4th of July parade with a bright, bold new banner.

Also, I took two of my new banners to Balboa Park and they drew a lot of attention there!

Finally Jeff Kangas and I brought two banners down to the Gaslamp section of downtown San Diego and preached in front of the “Whisky Girl” Nightclub. The people were quite shocked and we were there for two and a half hours with no trouble and many good conversations! PRAISE JESUS!
